I've always had a curiosity toward Helicopters ever since I was a small boy. One day as I was waxing my fathers car as a punishment of sorts and my dad and I were conversing. I think it was his way of making me feel better about all the work left to do on his stationwagon, because with eleven other brothers and sisters our one on one time was basically these few rare occasions we might get to talk uninterrupted. As we were, a helicopter flew over our heads. Dad must have noticed my curiosity so he began talking about them. He stated that he often wondered why the helicopter had a little rotor way in the back of the thing, more like a question I thought, and so I explained to him that its purpose was to keep the craft from spinning around with its large rotors. I didn't know where that answer came from or how I knew that information, but do remember feeling very content in seeing him look back up at the craft contemplating my answer, and then telling me that I was pretty smart sometimes, but certainly not enough to keep myself out of mischief, so I had to finish the car quickly. I was around thirteen years old, withdrawn and shy in school and certainly unaware that four years later I would be given the chance to fly in a helicopter when I enlisted in the Army AirBorne. I have loved all aircraft of this type ever since and had plenty of experience getting out of them in a hurry during the Vietnam War.
They truely were, and in many cases still are Life savers, as are the pilots that control them. This Love of the helicopters has stayed with me and now I content myself with doing different helicopter models as a hobby of sorts.

One day
I started thinking how many other types of helicopters could their possibly be? I was amazed to find out there were many.
I began trying to do as many models and different paint schemes as I could...
